Method

  1. Cream together the shortening and sugar. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. If you plan on coloring the cookies, divide into 3 portions and place in separate bowls. Color two of the portions with red or green food coloring, 4 to 5 drops. Mix the coloring into the dough until it has a smooth consistent color throughout. Chill for at least an hour. Using a cookie press, place the dough in the tube and squeeze out your favorite shapes onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350°Fs for 8 to 10 minutes, until barely browned. Remove to cooling racks. Store in a tightly covered container.
