Glazed Almonds

Method

Make something worth remembering.

Method

  1. In heavy meo quart skillet, combine water and sugar, place over high heat and stir with a wooden spoon until it comes to a boil. Add almonds and stir continuously. Reduce heat to medium and stir almonds until mixture forms and turns to sugar. Continue to stir as sugar remelts and caramelizes on almonds. Remove from heat and turn out onto ungreased baking sheets. Separate using forks. Cool.
  2. Variations:
  3. For orange glazed almonds, add two tablespoons grated orange peel at beginning of cooking.
  4. For glazed spiced almonds, add 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon at beginning of cooking.
  5. For glazed rose almonds, sprinkle the nuts with 2 teaspoons of rose water and stir well at the end of cooking.
