Ingredients: 1/2 cup shortening; 1 cup brown sugar; 1 cup flour; 2 eggs; 1 teaspoon vanilla; 3 tablespoons flour; 1/2 teaspoon salt; 1 1/2 cups coconut; 1 cup chopped nuts

Method

Mix together the shortening, 1 cup flour, and 1/2 cup brown sugar, and spread in a 9 X 13" pan and bake for 10 minutes at 375°F. Remove from the oven. Mix the eggs, vanilla, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 3 T flour, salt, coconut, and nuts together well.
Spread this mixture on top of the baked crust immediately after taking it out of the oven. Put it back in the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
