Roasted Garlic
Ingredients
Large garlic bulb – do as many as you like but get the whole cluster so that there are many cloves
Soft butter, or olive oil if you prefer
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Cut off ends of the garlic making sure all of the cloves are exposed.
Rub excess loose paper off the bulbs, leaving some surrounding the cloves.
Rub soft butter all over the cloves making sure to get the butter into all the cracks.
Set bulbs in a baking dish, bottom side down with exposed cloves up.
Cover top in foil and bake for 1 to 2-1/2 hours. Check ever 1/2 hour and baste with butter or olive oil on top to keep them from drying out.
When garlic starts to pop out of the bulb and becomes golden brown and soft, you know it’s done.
We take a butter knife and spread it on those little loaves of bread, fresh Italian bread and/or French Bread.
