Grandma Jane’s Meatloaf
This meatloaf holds together well, and the glaze is delicious!
Ingredients
2 lbs ground beef
1/2 white onion, diced
1 cup dried breadcrumbs
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
2 tblsp Worcestershire
1 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
salt and pepper
For the Glaze:
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tblsp brown sugar
1 tblsp Worcestershire
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly grease a 9 X 13 pan.
In a large mixing bowl, knead together the ground beef, onion, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire, basil, oregano, and salt & pepper.
Shape the mixture into a loaf and put into the prepared pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
While that bakes, mix up the glaze in a small bowl by whisking together the ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire.
Brush the meatloaf with the glaze.
Increase the oven temperature to 400 degrees and bake an additional 15 minutes or until meatloaf has an internal temperature of 160 degrees.
