Cindy’s Granola

Cindy made this as a Christmas present many years ago and I have made it many times since then. Marie Isbell

Ingredients

  • 6 cups quick oats
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup wheat germ
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1-1/2 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat oats on an uncreased cookie sheet for 10 minutes. Put warm oats in a large bowl. Add the next four dry ingredients and mix well.
  2. Combine the wet ingredients and mix well. Add to the dry ingredients and mix well.
  3. Spread evenly over a large, ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring often to brown evenly.
  4. Add raisins after the granola has been removed from the oven and cooled.
  5. Other options to add include, apples, apricots, dried cranberries and pecans.
  6. Store in a tightly sealed container.
