Beef Jerky

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean round steak
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Freeze meat until firm. Cut across grain as thin as possible: 1/8″ thin, 1″ wide.
  2. Combine all of the ingredients and refrigerate for 8 hours.
  3. Place strips of the marinated meat on a cake rack over a cookie sheet in a 140 degree oven for 18 to 24 hours until the edges splinter.
  4. Store in a tightly covered container for 2 to 4 weeks.
